Covid – 19 Return to Play Procedures (V4) – 11 May 21

The following procedures have been revised to reflect the latest recommendations from Table Tennis England and are being implemented to ensure a safe return to club play from Monday 17th May.  It is the responsibility of all members to follow these procedures until further notice:

  • Players to not attend any playing facility if they are having any symptoms or have been in contact with someone who has tested positive for Covid-19
  • All players must book a session at the given venue in order to be able to play
  • Members should phone (01425 619552) or email Bev (bmscottjohns@outlook.com) to book a session. Numbers are limited each evening to comply with the space requirements but we will only be operating one session per evening at this point.
  • There is currently no requirement for people to be part of a bubble and players can arrive and leave at a time to suit themselves.
  • You must adhere to social distancing guidelines at all times
  • Members must adhere to good hygiene practices throughout their time at the Club
  • Equipment cannot be shared within a session. Players should bring their own bats, and balls should be cleaned regularly. No breathing on the bat or ball to clean.
  • Players should refrain from touching the table, net or barriers where possible
  • Table tennis etiquette, which requires contact (shaking / slapping hands etc) must be suspended for the time being.
  • Players can swap ends if necessary but it is recommended that the edges of the table be wiped down both after swapping ends and when leaving the table.
  • No doubles play is permitted
  • Proper hand washing with soap (or hand sanitiser as a second best) should occur before and after any activity at the club.
  • Members should keep all their belongings together at all times, including towels and drinks bottles which must be taken away at the end of the session.
  • A nominated individual will be responsible for each session to ensure that these rules are adhered to
  • Any one way system implemented at a venue should be complied with.
  • Face masks should be used both before and after playing as long as it does not impede your recovery.
  • Toilet facilities will be available at both venues

Please note that these procedures may be changed at short notice as further information becomes available and we will endeavour to let you know as soon as possible if this happens.

Welcome back
