13 year old Jack Trafford from New Milton won the Boy’s Tyro event at the recent Bournemouth Cadet Invitation Tournament held at the Dorset Table Tennis Centre in Somerford, Christchurch.

The main event is the Cadets tournament where the more experienced players fight it out to be crowned Bournemouth Cadet Champion, but the Tyros was set up to enable players new to the game to have their first experience of a tournament.

Jack has been training at the New Milton Club this season and has been receiving coaching from Bournemouth coaches Matt Ware and Simon Heaps. This up and coming youngster will be competing in the Bournemouth and District league in the forthcoming season and is definitely one to watch for the future!
