New Milton Table Tennis Club had their leanest week in the Bournemouth & District league so far this season as they only picked up four wins out of twelve matches. The club’s top three teams won their matches and the J team just got the better of their G team in their Division 3 derby.

The B team came up with their second 9-1 victory in the Premier as they pulverised Winton YMCA A in their own back yard, courtesy of hat-tricks from Andy Tipsana, John Hook and Jack Trafford. 14 year old Trafford, voted the club’s joint most improved player last season and currently ranked England No 21 Under-15, continues to go from strength to strength and was delighted with his first Premier hat-trick. Recently Jack travelled to Crawley to play in a Senior Grand Prix at the K2 Arena and came runner-up following five terrific wins (Jack is pictured with his Runner-Up trophy).

The A team came up with their third Premier win in a row as they beat Broadstone A 7-3 at the Grange despite being a player short. Paul Iliffe played up from Div 1 to score an impressive Premier hat-trick and was joined in a treble by regular Umit Kaya, his first of the campaign.

Division 1 saw the C team (John Millward, Shaun Newcomb & Steve Cheesman) beat basement boys Merton D 8-2 away at Southbourne. Captain Millward came up with his first hat-trick of the campaign, wheelchair player Newcomb claimed his second hat-trick and Cheesman played up a division to bag a brace.
